At Top of the Monk our philosophy is simple, centered around presenting you with quality cocktails and Asheville’s premier whiskey collection, served by our knowledgeable and friendly staff in an atmosphere that is both sophisticated, and relaxing. We take pride in serving the finest classic and modern cocktails. Take a sip, sit back, and enjoy views of the mountains from our rooftop patio. Find yourself a comfortable seat at the bar to watch our Mixologists at work, or seek out a quiet corner to simply enjoy every bit of your libation.

In order for you, and all of our valued guests to most thoroughly enjoy your time at Top of the Monk, we have a few in-house policies:

    • No parties of 7 or more people after 7pm on Friday and Saturday.
    • Leave the party accessories at the door – we’d be glad to look after your sashes, feather boas, noisemakers, etc. at the door while you enjoy a relaxed drink upstairs, and you can pick them up on your way out.
  • No hootin n’ hollerin! We like to keep things low key so everyone can enjoy their conversations.

Kir Diamond Fizz
  • Light and sweet but not too sweet, and topped with bubbling wine, this luxurious classic is bound to make you feel like royalty. *Please note all fizzes take extra time to prepare.
  • Sutler's NC Gin, French Cassis, Pressed Lemon, Cane Sugar, Cream, Egg White, Champagne. Served Up.
Angostura Phosphate
  • Read the ingredient list, and then just think about them as you drink this wondrously complex concoction, perfect for aficionados, perhaps not so much for amateurs.
  • Angostura Bitters, Aged Rum,120 Day Cured Allspice Dram, Acid Phosphate, Gum Arabic & Lemon Syrup, Gentle Carbonation. Served Up.
Chief Lapu Lapu Punch
  • In the rum soaked world of old school tiki drinks, this one may not be as assertive as it's more well known cousins, but it is said to "bring magic" and makes you “see things on the other side” – whatever that means…
  • Aged and Dark Jamaican Rums, House Cured Falernum, Fresh Citrus, Passion Fruit, Tiki Spiced Syrup. Served Over Crushed Ice.
The V-11 Bloody Mary
  • We don't always make Bloody Marys but when we do, we make a damn good one. Not your usual mix, our super fresh house blend features eleven cold pressed vegetables and a little spice. No preservatives or guilt required.
  • Vodka or Gin, Cold Pressed Red and Green Tomato, Carrot, Roasted Red Peppers, Fennel, Celery, Watercress, Onion, Parsley, Beets, Olive, Lime, Worcestershire, Stout Beer. Served on Ice. Make it Top Shelf +$3
The Smoking Jacket
  • Our somewhat intense yet playful version of a classic Manhattan, pairs bourbon with a duo of herbal vermouths and is crowned with several house made bitters. It may even smell a bit like a cigar.
  • Larceny, Carpano Antica, Cinzano, House Smoked BBQ Bitters & Pipe Tobacco Infused Bitters. Served on Ice.
Coxe Avenue Corner
  • Coxe. The walk sign is on to cross.. Coxe.
  • Reposado Tequila, Pisco, House Tonic, Ginger Saturated Honey, Muddled Cucumber & Lime. Served Up.
Rhubarb Can't Fail
  • This drink may not cure your soul, after having brews for breakfast, but it will definately brighten the rest of your evening.
  • Redemption Bourbon, Chai Saturated Rhubarb and Sugar Reduction, Cantaloupe, Mint Water, Fresh Lemon. Served Over Ice.
Excess Baggage
  • The time has come to pack your cares away and check your worries at the door. This strong complex sipper is just the ticket.
  • Four Roses Single Barrel, Zucca Rabarbaro Amaro, Italian Amaretto. Served Up.
Leonid Cocktail
  • A meteor shower on your taste-buds, this complicated drink is lightly tart, yet mellow and very drinkable.
  • Applejack Brandy, Straight Gin, Dolin Dry, Harlequin Orange Liqueur, Fresh Grapefruit, Angostura Bitters. Served Up.
Gin, Apple, & Elderberry Soda
  • It's really best not to over think it.
  • Gin, St. Germain, Cold Pressed Apples Lightly Spiced with Tamarind Chutney, Coconut Water, Sparkling Cider. Served on Ice.
