At Top of the Monk our philosophy is simple, centered around presenting you with the best quality cocktails, served by our knowledgeable and friendly staff in an atmosphere that is both sophisticated, and relaxing. We take pride in serving the finest classic cocktails, and in continually honing and learning our craft in order to give you the best experience and drinks possible. Take a sip, sit back, and enjoy views of the mountains from our rooftop patio. Find yourself a comfortable seat at the bar to watch our Mixologists at work, or seek out a quiet corner to simply enjoy every bit of your libation.

In order for you, and all of our valued guests to most thoroughly enjoy your time at Top of the Monk, we have a few in-house policies:

  • No parties of 7 or more people after 7pm on Friday and Saturday.
  • Leave the party accessories at the door – we’d be glad to look after your sashes, feather boas, noisemakers, etc. at the door while you enjoy a relaxed drink upstairs, and you can pick them up on your way out.
  • No hootin n’ hollerin! We like to keep things low key so everyone can enjoy their conversations.

Cocktail List

Corpse Reviver #2
  • From Harry Craddock's immortal tome, The Savoy Cocktail Book, 1930.
  • Death's Door Gin, Lillet Blanc, Cointreau, Absinthe, Fresh Lemon. Served Up.
Merry Widow
  • "A widow is a fascinating being with the flavor of maturity, the spice of experience, the piquancy of novelty, the tang of practiced coquetry, and the halo of one man's approval."
  • Beefeater 24, Extra Dry, Vermouth, Benedictine, Absinthe, Peychaud's Bitters. Served Up.
Orange Buck
  • This refreshingly zesty little number is a twist on a Jazz Age Classic, and definately has a bit of a kick.
  • Vodka or Straight Gin, Fresh Orange & Lime, House Ginger Beer. Served on Ice.
Rusty Nail
  • Drinking this retro mix is like hanging out with Dean Martin in a lounge laminated with hardwood veneer paneling and burgundy Naugahyde couches.
  • Monkey Shoulder, Drambuie, Aromatic Bitters. Served on Ice.
Sangria
  • A sweet and savory fall spiced punch perfect for watching leaves fall. Our house version features a spicy over proof rye whiskey.
  • Rittenhouse Bonded Rye, House Spiced Red Wine Mix, Fresh Citrus. Served on Ice.
Brandy Crusta
  • One of the great old drinks, with the recipe dating to 1862. It's tart, stiff, and with just enough sweetness to get you by, just like many an ex-girlfriend.
  • Carriage House Apple Brandy, Harlequin, Fresh Lemon, Cane Sugar. Served Up.
Boris Karloff
  • Most commonly remembered as Frankenstein's Monster, Boris was a true master of horror. Despite his grinchy nature, this cocktail actually has a gentle sweetness.
  • Straight Gin, St. Germain, Fresh Lime, Egg White, Carbonated Water, Cracked Black Pepper, Lime Zest. Served on Ice.
Fireside
  • We may not have a fire here, but with winter on the way and a blended drink this delicious, we are lit up without one!
  • Old Forester, Fresh Lemon, Clover Honey, Angostura Bitters, Local Cold Pressed Cider, Muddled Candied Ginger. Served on Ice.
Harvest Moon
  • Who wouldn't want to plow their back forty in the moonlight if one of these complex libations was waiting at the finish?
  • Redemption Rye, Lillet Blanc, Applejack, Green Chartreuse, Angostura & Bokers Bitters. Served Up.
Bolt and Screw It
  • Fresh, a little bitter, and full of booze, why just tie one on, when you can bolt and screw it?
  • 7 Yr Aged Rum, Cachaça, Campari, Citrus Melange, Fresh PIneapple, Spiced Mango Syrup, Peychaud's Bitters. Served over Ice.
Potion de los Muertos
  • A slightly spicy and citrus forward little concoction with a bit of a witchy spirit.
  • Conmemorativo Reposado, Fresh Orange & Lemon, Smoked Ancho Agave, Angostura & Orange Bitters, Beet concentrated with Pomegranate Molasses. Served over Ice.
Broken English
  • "When built properly, you get a symphony orchestra playing Tchaikovsky’s 1812 in your mouth. There are cannons exploding here, kettle drums pounding over there, and cymbals crashing all over the place."
  • Plymouth Gin, Cinzano, Strega, Fernet Branca, Benedictine, Regan's Orange & Peychaud's Bitters. Served Up.
