At Top of the Monk our philosophy is simple, centered around presenting you with the best quality cocktails, served by our knowledgeable and friendly staff in an atmosphere that is both sophisticated, and relaxing. We take pride in serving the finest classic cocktails, and in continually honing and learning our craft in order to give you the best experience and drinks possible. Take a sip, sit back, and enjoy views of the mountains from our rooftop patio. Find yourself a comfortable seat at the bar to watch our Mixologists at work, or seek out a quiet corner to simply enjoy every bit of your libation.

In order for you, and all of our valued guests to most thoroughly enjoy your time at Top of the Monk, we have a few in-house policies:

  • No parties of 7 or more people after 7pm on Friday and Saturday.
  • Leave the party accessories at the door – we’d be glad to look after your sashes, feather boas, noisemakers, etc. at the door while you enjoy a relaxed drink upstairs, and you can pick them up on your way out.
  • No hootin n’ hollerin! We like to keep things low key so everyone can enjoy their conversations.

Cocktail List

Top of the Monk's Cup
  • Our version of a classic Pimm's Cup features fresh ginger beer and is topped with bubbly IPA.
  • Pimm's #1, Straight Gin, House Ginger Beer, Fresh Lemon, IPA, Served on Ice.
The Chauncey
  • Originally published in the Old Waldorf-Astoria Bar Book in 1935, this curious little tipple is like an intersection of spirit genres, and this intersection yields no accidents!
  • Bourbon, V.S. Cognac, Straight Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Reagan's #6 Bitters. Served Up.
Pink Lady Cocktail
  • America's first girly cocktail, now classic enough that either sex can enjoy it without reservation.
  • Dry London Gin, Applejack Brandy, Fresh Lemon, House Spiced Grenadine, Egg White. Served Up.
The Honey, Almond & Chèvre Fizz
  • This complicated but intriguing little number has a balance of sweet, sour, and salty. It's the ideal libation for those who enjoy the delicate flavors from a local farmer's market, but it's not for everyone. *Note: All Fizzes need a few extra minutes for perfection.
  • Absolut, Amaretto, Tuaca, Frangelico, Local Raw Honey, Orgeat, Egg White, Almond Extract, Fresh Lemon, Yogurt, Goat Cheese, Carbonated Water, Shaved Almond, Black Sea Salt. Served Up.
The Greatest of Ease
  • Layers of bright fresh notes from the garden, with tangy citrus, and the dark licorice botanicals of sweet anise will carry you to a better state of mellow.
  • Lucid Absinthe Supérieure, Vodka, Sauvignon Blanc, Lemon & Parsley Saturated Syrup, Fresh Citrus, Hibiscus Oak and Aromatic Bitters. Served up.
The Oaxaca Old Fashioned
  • Hello, have you met our friend mezcal? Created in NYC at the world famous cocktail bar, Death & Co., this smoky twist on an old fashioned is a great way to make an introduction.
  • Espolon Reposado, Del Maguey Mezcal, Agave Nector, Bittermen's Mole BItters. Served on Ice.
Everything Stays
  • Sometimes the best things in life happen when everything stays the same, simply and exactly where you left it.
  • White Rum, Vinho Verde, Green Tea Syrup, Fresh Lime, Celery Bitters. Served on Ice.
Josephine Baker
  • Ernest Hemingway called her "the most sensational woman anyone ever saw." Bold, deep, sharp, exotic, playful, and perhaps a little bit dangerous, we hope this cocktail lives up to it's fantastic leading lady.
  • Sutler's NC Gin, House Cherry Brine, Punt e Mes Vermouth, Angostura Bitters, Orange Oil Bitters, Yellow Chartreuse Float. Served On Ice.
Smooth Operator
  • A real charmer for true coffee lovers. But if you are, this high octane one is almost dangerous.
  • Black Barrel Rum, Cream Liquor, Local Cold Brew Coffee, Guarana & Ginko Spiked Syrup, Condensed and Whipped Milk Soaked in Vanilla Bean. Topped with Local Caramel & Hawaiian Sea Salt.
Gold Digger
  • Don't be fooled by this tart, bright, and herbacious tipple. There's a big pour of good bourbon hidden in there too..
  • Double Oaked Whiskey, Lightly Hickory Smoked Local Honey, Fresh Citrus, Barrel Aged Whiskey Bitters, Fernet Branca Float. Served on Ice.
